The trades, and the people who train them.
Kieran Cole runs two desks at Thatcher Associates. One places the gas, electrical, fire and air conditioning engineers who keep buildings compliant, domestic and commercial, across social housing, facilities management and building services. The other places the tutors, assessors and lecturers who train those same trades in colleges and independent training providers. Every role Kieran is running is on this page.

Kieran Cole
Kieran joined Thatcher Associates as a partner and built both desks from scratch, working England, Scotland and Wales. They sit deliberately close together: the engineer on site and the tutor training the next one are the same labour market, seen from either end. It means a client hiring an electrical tester and a college hiring an electrical assessor are talking to someone who knows both rooms.
“An overdue gas cert or a failed EICR is a problem the building owner feels every day it stands, whether that is four thousand homes or one commercial kitchen. And the reason good engineers are scarce is that the people who train them are scarcer. I work both ends of that.”
Two desks.
