Montego Bay. Permanent role with Thatcher Associates, the specialist hospitality desk.
About the role
Assistant General Manager, Food and Beverage, Montego Bay
Competitive salary · performance bonus being finalised · F&B leadership in a 24-hour venue
Are you a food and beverage leader who wants to make a visible difference in a venue that never closes?
The opportunity
Our client is an established Caribbean hospitality, entertainment and gaming group. One of their largest venues is a round-the-clock gaming and entertainment destination in Montego Bay, with restaurants, bars and family areas, serving a loyal local customer base. They are appointing an Assistant General Manager to take ownership of food and beverage and lift it to the standard of the rest of the business.
Gaming knowledge is not required, as the client will train you. What matters is your ability to build strong F&B teams, grow revenue and keep standards high at any hour. The business has been clear that the right person here will be noticed across the group.
What you will be doing
- Leading the restaurants and bars, from menus and service standards to stock, cost and margin
- Building, training and scheduling food and beverage teams for 24-hour operation
- Growing F&B revenue and spend per visit through promotions, events and better product
- Sharing responsibility with the General Manager for the whole venue, including the gaming floor once trained
- Controlling labour and operating costs, keeping food safety and licensing standards, and reporting on performance
What you will need
- Senior food and beverage management experience in restaurants, bars, nightlife, casinos or entertainment venues
- Clear evidence of growing F&B revenue and controlling cost
- Strong leadership of large, shift-based teams
Experience in casino, gaming or 24-hour operations would be an advantage, but is not essential.
What is on offer
- A competitive salary, negotiable depending on experience
- A performance bonus structure, currently being finalised
- Gaming training
- A visible role with real scope to progress within the group
The practical detail
The venue never closes and its busiest periods are evenings and weekends, so this role works nights, weekends and public holidays as standard, not occasionally.
