Electrical Pre-construction Estimator (Multifamily)

The opportunity

Our client is an established electrical subcontractor working across the southeastern United States. They deliver multifamily, commercial, healthcare and industrial electrical work for general contractors and developers. They are adding an electrical estimator to their pre-construction team to support the volume of work they price.

This role suits an estimator who knows multifamily electrical well and can price it quickly and accurately across a steady flow of bids. You will be pricing work for general contractor and developer clients, where a reliable number matters to the relationship as much as to the win.

What you will be doing

• Carrying out electrical takeoffs from drawings and specifications, with a focus on multifamily projects
• Building estimates covering unit wiring, service and distribution, lighting, fire alarm and low voltage scopes
• Producing budget and conceptual numbers early in design, then firming them up as drawings develop
• Obtaining and levelling supplier and specialist quotations, and identifying scope gaps and exclusions before bid day
• Supporting value engineering conversations and handing awarded work over cleanly to operations

What you will need

• A track record as an electrical estimator, with multifamily experience
• Confidence reading electrical drawings, panel schedules, one-line diagrams and specifications
• A working knowledge of the NEC
• The ability to manage several bids at once and hit deadlines

Experience with electrical estimating software such as Accubid, McCormick or ConEst would be useful, as would takeoff experience in Bluebeam Revu or On-Screen Takeoff. Commercial or healthcare experience and the CPE credential would both be a plus, but neither is essential.
