Corporate Trainer and Employee Wellbeing Supervisor
Turks and Caicos Islands. Permanent role with Thatcher Associates, the specialist hospitality desk.
About the role
Salary negotiable · accommodation and utilities included · monthly gratuities
Have you helped a luxury property prepare for its Forbes audits, and would you like to own training for a whole resort? Could you see yourself on a small, quiet Caribbean island, with the beach close by and the crowds far away? Would you like a role that grows into staff wellbeing and engagement?
The resort
Our client is a small luxury villa resort and residential community on one of the quieter islands of the Turks and Caicos. It is high-end and low-volume rather than large and busy: a small number of suites and private villas, with guest numbers kept low and service highly personal. Facilities include two restaurants, an infinity pool, a beach bar, a spa, a fitness centre and private beaches with watersports.
The role
You would join the Learning and Development and HR team and start by setting, teaching and embedding luxury service standards in every department, with Forbes Travel Guide standards at the centre. As the role develops, you would take on employee wellbeing, engagement and the staff experience across the resort, with a clear path into a wider wellbeing and engagement leadership role.
What you'll do
- Design and deliver training programmes for individual departments and for the whole resort
- Lead Forbes Travel Guide standards training and keep the resort ready for its audits
- Run onboarding and induction for new team members
- Work with department heads to identify training needs and development opportunities
- Track how well training works and monitor service quality measures
- Champion engagement and recognition initiatives for the team
- Help build a positive, inclusive workplace culture
- Grow into staff wellbeing leadership, with a focus on retention, engagement and job satisfaction
You'll need
- Experience as a Corporate Trainer, Training Manager, Learning and Development Manager or Quality Manager in hospitality
- Experience at a Forbes-rated or Forbes-audited luxury hotel or resort
- A strong understanding of luxury guest service standards
- Confident presentation, coaching and facilitation skills
- To be happy living on a small, remote island on single status
Island life
The island is small and quiet, with white sand beaches, clear water and a slower pace. There is little shopping, dining or nightlife outside the resort, so it suits people who enjoy a close-knit island life. Short flights connect it to the rest of the Turks and Caicos, and there are direct flights to Miami.
What's in it for you
- Salary negotiable
- Staff accommodation with utilities covered (meals not included)
- Monthly gratuities
- Flights home to visit family, and relocation support
- A competitive holiday allowance
- A route into a wellbeing and engagement leadership role
