Estimator or Senior Estimator (Remote, Florida)

The opportunity

Our client is a construction business adding an estimator or senior estimator to their pre-construction team, working remotely from Florida. The search is confidential, so they are not named here, and you will know who they are before your details go anywhere.

The role suits an estimator who is comfortable owning their numbers without someone at the next desk checking every line. You will price work from takeoff through to bid day, working closely with the wider pre-construction team by video and phone.

What you will be doing

• Producing quantity takeoffs and detailed estimates from drawings and specifications, organised by CSI MasterFormat division
• Building bid lists, issuing ITBs, and scoping and levelling subcontractor pricing to close scope gaps before bid day
• Pricing work across a range of delivery methods, including hard bid and negotiated projects
• Supporting value engineering and constructability reviews with the project and design teams
• Handing estimates over cleanly to operations for buyout

What you will need

• A solid track record estimating with a GC, CM or trade contractor
• Confident takeoff using software such as Bluebeam Revu or On-Screen Takeoff
• The discipline to run your own bid calendar and hit deadlines while working remotely
• To be based in Florida

Experience of any of Destini Estimator, Sage Estimating, WinEst, ProEst or Procore would be useful. CPE certification through ASPE or a construction management degree would be welcome but is not essential. The level of the appointment, and the scope of bids you lead, will reflect your experience.

The practical detail

Remote does not mean flexible deadlines. Bid days run to the client's clock, and the week before a large submission can mean longer hours. Some travel to the office or site may be needed. We would rather you knew that up front than found out at offer stage.
