Facilities Director

Our client operates a large, internationally branded, all-inclusive beachfront resort, offering multiple restaurants and bars, extensive pool areas, spa facilities and event space across a substantial oceanfront property. The Facilities Director leads the full engineering and maintenance function for the resort, with real accountability for keeping a busy, high-occupancy property running to a five-star standard.

This is a senior leadership role for an experienced facilities or engineering professional who is as comfortable setting long-term capital planning as they are solving problems on the ground. You will lead a sizeable technical team across mechanical, electrical, plumbing and grounds, and act as the resort’s primary authority on building systems, safety and compliance.

• Leading and developing the engineering, maintenance, and grounds teams across the property
• Managing preventative maintenance programmes across guest rooms, public areas, pools, and back-of-house systems
• Overseeing capital projects, renovations, and refurbishment work in coordination with ownership
• Managing the facilities budget, including labour, contractors, and materials
• Ensuring compliance with local health, safety, and building regulations
• Managing energy, water, and utilities systems with a focus on efficiency

• Proven Facilities Director, Chief Engineer or Director of Engineering experience at a large, high-occupancy hotel or resort
• Strong technical knowledge across HVAC, electrical, plumbing and pool plant systems
• Demonstrable experience managing capital projects and contractor relationships
• Strong people leadership skills, with experience managing a multidisciplinary technical team
• Experience in a large-scale Caribbean or island-based resort environment would be a strong advantage.
