 Engineering Manager, Luxury Private Resort

The Opportunity:
  • An exclusive, all inclusive private resort in the Caribbean, known for a standard of finish and guest experience that leaves no room for compromise. The Engineering Manager is responsible for keeping every part of the physical property running to that standard, from villas and pools to back of house plant and equipment.
  • This role suits a hands on engineering professional who takes real pride in preventative maintenance rather than firefighting. Working on a remote island property means parts and contractors are not always around the corner, so the right person will be resourceful, calm under pressure and used to solving problems with the resources in front of them.
What you will be doing
  • Managing all mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems across the property, including pool and water treatment plant
  • Leading a small maintenance team and coordinating external contractors where needed
  • Running a structured preventative maintenance programme across villas and guest facing areas
  • Managing spares, tools and consumables within an agreed budget
  • Responding to urgent maintenance issues quickly and discreetly during guest stays
What you will need
  • Proven engineering or maintenance management experience in a five star hotel or luxury resort environment
  • Strong working knowledge of pool plant, generators, HVAC and general building systems
  • Comfortable managing a small team and prioritising your own workload with limited outside support
  • A recognised trade qualification or engineering background is preferred, though relevant hands on hotel or resort engineering experience will also be considered.
