Finance Manager Trainee

The opportunity

Our client is an established, multi-property all-inclusive resort group on Jamaica’s north coast with a structured finance function supporting a sizeable hospitality operation. This trainee role is designed for someone early in their finance career who wants genuine hands on exposure to hotel finance, working closely with the Finance Manager across budgeting, reporting and day to day controls.

This is a development role rather than a standalone position, so it suits someone with a solid academic finance or accounting foundation who is looking to build toward a full Finance Manager position over time, ideally within the hospitality sector.

What you will be doing

• Supporting month end reporting, reconciliations and financial controls

• Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and departmental cost reporting

• Helping to prepare management accounts under supervision

• Supporting accounts payable and receivable processes

• Learning hotel specific finance systems and reporting cycles

What you will need

• A degree in finance, accounting or a related subject, or equivalent professional study underway

• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with financial data

• A genuinely keen interest in building a career in hospitality finance

Prior finance experience in a hotel or resort setting is not essential, though any exposure to hospitality or a service industry would be an advantage.
