Domestic Gas Engineer
East Devon. Permanent role with Thatcher Associates, the specialist trades & maintenance desk.
About the role
Exeter and East Devon | Salary: competitive, depending on experience* | Monday to Friday, local patch, real progression
The opportunity
Our client is a gas servicing and maintenance provider covering domestic properties across Exeter and East Devon. They've built a reputation for keeping engineers long-term, and for giving people room to progress rather than treating the role as a revolving door.
You'll work a defined local patch rather than crossing the county for random jobs, with a straightforward Monday to Friday structure and only occasional call outs. It suits an engineer who wants stability and a clear route towards a supervisory or training role, rather than someone looking to fast-track into management overnight.
What you will be doing
- Boiler fault finding, diagnostics and repairs in domestic properties
- Routine servicing and repairs, with occasional call outs
- Maintaining accurate records of work completed and parts used
- Working within a defined local patch across Exeter and East Devon
What you will need
- Valid domestic ACS certifications (CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1)
- Previous experience in domestic gas servicing and repairs
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability, particularly on boilers
- A full UK driving licence
Oil or OFTEC experience is a bonus, and experience working in social housing or a similar environment would be an advantage.
What is on offer
- Competitive salary, depending on experience*
- A defined local patch with a Monday to Friday structure and only occasional call outs
- A strong reputation for staff retention and long-term progression
- Encouragement and support to develop, with routes into supervisory or trainee progression
