About the role

 Our client, a well-established contractor working on water mains installation projects across Exuma and Eleuthera, is looking for experienced Heavy Duty Gas/Diesel Mechanics to join their fleet maintenance team.

The role

You'll be responsible for keeping a fleet of heavy equipment running safely and efficiently across active utility and civil infrastructure sites. This includes diagnosing and repairing diesel powered machinery, carrying out preventative maintenance and inspections, and responding to breakdowns in the field to keep projects moving.

Equipment you'll be working on

Trenchers, excavators, backhoes, skid steers, compaction equipment and dewatering pumps.

What you'll need

  • Minimum 5 years' experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, ideally in utility, waterworks, construction or civil infrastructure projects
  • Strong working knowledge of diesel and gas engines, hydraulics, electrical and pneumatic systems
  • A valid driver's licence
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently as part of a team
