About the role
Thatcher Associates is recruiting on behalf of a client operating water mains installation projects across Exuma and Eleuthera. We're looking for experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join their team on a full-time basis.
Equipment experience required
- Trenchers
- Excavators
- Backhoes
- Skid steers
- Compaction equipment
- Dewatering pumps
Key responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment for water mains installation projects
- Excavate trenches to specified line, grade, depth and width
- Carry out daily equipment inspections and safety checks
- Identify and report underground utility conflicts and hazards
- Coordinate with supervisors, surveyors and pipe-laying crews
- Carry out basic equipment maintenance and upkeep
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience operating heavy equipment
- Valid driver's licence
- Sound knowledge of excavation and trench safety practices
- Experience on utility, waterworks or civil infrastructure projects preferred
- Ability to work safely and efficiently as part of a team
