Water Main Pipe Layers

 Our client, a specialist utilities and infrastructure contractor operating across the Bahamas, is looking for experienced Water Main Pipe Layers to join their team on water mains installation projects in Exuma and Eleuthera.

This is a hands-on role for tradespeople with a solid background in water main and utility construction, working on the installation, connection and commissioning of water distribution infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Install water mains, service lines, valves, hydrants, fittings and related water distribution infrastructure
• Lay and align pipe to specified line and grade using project drawings and survey controls
• Assist with trench preparation, pipe bedding, backfilling and site restoration
• Install and connect PVC, ductile iron and HDPE piping systems
• Install valves, hydrants, service connections, thrust blocks and other water system components
• Assist with pressure testing, flushing, disinfection and commissioning of newly installed pipelines
• Work safely in trenches and around existing underground utilities, in line with all safety requirements

What you'll need

• Minimum 5 years' experience in water main, utility, pipeline or civil infrastructure construction
• Experience installing PVC, ductile iron, HDPE and other water distribution piping systems
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and utility plans
• Working knowledge of water distribution systems, pipe laying techniques and grade control
• Familiarity with trench safety, excavation procedures and underground utility protection
• A strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship and teamwork
• A valid driver's licence is preferred
