Truck Driver

Thatcher Associates is recruiting Truck Drivers for a client operating water mains installation projects across Exuma and Eleuthera in the Bahamas.

Key responsibilities:

• Safely operate water trucks, flatbeds and other project vehicles
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections, including fluids, tyres, brakes, lights, alarms and safety systems
• Transport pipes, fittings, valves, hydrants, equipment and construction materials to and from project sites
• Load and unload materials and equipment safely and efficiently
• Report vehicle defects, maintenance issues and safety concerns promptly
• Support water main installation crews by ensuring timely delivery of materials and resources
• Maintain vehicles, equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition
• Complete daily inspection reports, driver logs and required project documentation

Requirements, knowledge and experience:

• Valid driver's licence
• Minimum 5 years' truck driving experience
• Experience working on utility, construction or civil infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of vehicle safety inspections and preventative maintenance
• Understanding of construction site safety requirements, traffic control and active work zones
• Ability to support excavation, trenching and pipe installation operations through effective material delivery and site logistics
