Thatcher Associates is recruiting Heavy Duty Gas/Diesel Mechanics for a client operating water mains installation projects across Exuma and Eleuthera in the Bahamas.

Equipment experience required:

• Trenchers
• Excavators
• Backhoes
• Skid steers
• Compaction equipment
• Dewatering pumps

Key responsibilities:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair heavy equipment and diesel powered machinery
• Carry out preventative maintenance, inspections and servicing of fleet equipment
• Repair hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems
• Respond to equipment breakdowns in the field to minimise downtime
• Maintain service records and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years' experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment used in utility, waterworks, construction or civil infrastructure projects (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of diesel and gas engines, hydraulics, electrical and pneumatic systems
• Valid driver's licence
• Able to work safely and efficiently in a team environment
