The Opportunity
This is a genuinely rare appointment. A well-capitalised, self-performing developer based in Nassau is building out its on-site construction team to support delivery of an ambitious portfolio of luxury hospitality projects across New Providence and the surrounding islands, with a pipeline that stretches well beyond a decade. Funding is fully secured, projects are already in construction, and the business is growing its team to match the scale of what it is delivering. For the right person, this represents long-term stability in one of the world's most desirable locations, with the kind of project quality and variety that is difficult to find anywhere in the world.
The current portfolio spans three exceptional schemes: a luxury waterfront hotel of up to 100 keys complete with an exclusive marina facility; a high-end wellness retreat and luxury residential development on Paradise Island; and an exclusive private beach club and hospitality destination on a stunning island just a short boat ride from Nassau. These are not speculative projects but live, funded developments being delivered by an owner-operator with a clear long-term vision for the Bahamian luxury market and an uncompromising approach to quality.
Nassau itself is one of the Caribbean's most established and accessible cities, offering a high quality of life, a strong expat community, direct flights to major US and European hubs, and all the lifestyle advantages of island living, from world-class diving and boating to a genuinely vibrant social scene.
The Role
Based in Nassau with occasional travel to off-island project sites, some of which are accessed by boat on a morning and afternoon basis, this role reports directly to the MEP Project Manager and provides technical engineering support across the full lifecycle of active projects, from design coordination and subcontractor oversight through to commissioning and handover. The client self-performs and manages subcontractors directly, so this is a hands-on appointment requiring someone comfortable working closely with trades on site as well as engaging at a technical and coordination level with the wider project team.
Responsibilities
- Support the MEP Project Manager in the day-to-day technical management and coordination of MEP works across live projects
- Review and coordinate MEP design drawings, specifications, and shop drawings, ensuring alignment with project requirements and local standards
- Oversee and monitor subcontractor performance on site, ensuring works are executed in accordance with approved designs, programme, and quality requirements
- Attend site regularly to inspect MEP installations, identify issues, and drive resolution
- Coordinate MEP interfaces with structural and architectural works, flagging clashes and managing solutions through the design team
- Support procurement activity for MEP packages, including technical review of supplier and subcontractor submissions
- Maintain accurate records of progress, inspections, RFIs, and technical submittals
- Assist in the preparation of commissioning plans and support the testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems
The Candidate
You will be a degree-qualified MEP or Building Services Engineer with solid experience in the delivery of high-end hospitality, residential, or mixed-use construction projects. A background in hotel, resort, or luxury leisure construction would be particularly well regarded given the nature of the client's portfolio. You will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, hands-on environment where the expectation is to get things right first time, and you will have the communication skills to work effectively across a multi-disciplinary team including trades, project managers, designers, and client representatives.
Experience of working on projects in the Caribbean or other island environments is an advantage, though not essential for a candidate with the right technical grounding and a genuine appetite to relocate and build a long-term career in the region. This is not a short-term contract posting; the client is looking for someone who wants to put down roots, grow with the business, and be part of something being built for the long term.
Package
The role carries a salary of US$7,000 to US$9,000 per month depending on experience, alongside a housing allowance and a full expat package. Further details are available upon application.
