Operations Manager

OPERATIONS MANAGER
Location: New Providence, Bahamas

Thatcher Associates is recruiting on behalf of a leading construction and infrastructure organization seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily operations for a major road construction project in New Providence.

Position Summary

The Operations Manager will be responsible for coordinating personnel, equipment, logistics, maintenance activities, and production schedules to ensure project objectives are achieved safely, efficiently, and within budget. This role requires strong leadership, operational planning, and extensive experience in road construction and heavy equipment management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations, personnel, equipment, and project logistics.
• Coordinate operators, crews, and equipment to meet project schedules and production targets.
• Oversee fleet maintenance, equipment performance, and inventory management.
• Implement and monitor preventative and corrective maintenance programs.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety requirements, and operational procedures.
• Monitor production, project costs, and resource utilization.
• Maintain accurate operational, maintenance, and inventory records.
• Communicate equipment, inventory, and resource requirements to senior management.
• Provide operational support, including equipment operation when required.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 10 years' experience in road construction, asphalt paving, heavy civil construction, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of asphalt paving equipment, diesel engines, and heavy equipment maintenance.
• Proven experience managing fleet operations and maintenance programs.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
