THE OPPORTUNITY
Thatcher Associates is recruiting a Construction Finishing Superintendent on behalf of a prestigious contractor delivering high-end luxury residential
communities in the Caribbean. This is a rare opportunity to work on exceptional custom homes in a stunning island setting, bringing world-class craftsmanship to one of the region's most exclusive developments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Finishing Oversight & Trade Coordination
- Lead, schedule, and supervise all high-end finishing trades including drywall, painting, cabinetry, tile, trim, fixtures, specialty wall finishes, luxury cabinetry, premium flooring, and custom exterior features.
- Coordinate trade sequencing to ensure finishes are protected, installed correctly, and completed without damage.
- Communicate daily with subcontractors, designers, and project managers to align expectations and uphold the highest standards of execution.
- Verify installation techniques meet luxury-grade standards, design intent, and architectural specifications.
Luxury Quality Control
- Perform ongoing inspections to ensure flawless finish work: exact reveals, plumb lines, aligned patterns, uniform paint/stain, precise tile layout, and millwork perfection.
- Identify even minor imperfections and direct corrective measures immediately.
- Manage detailed punch lists with a zero-defect turnover standard.
- Ensure all custom finishes meet design specifications, including premium materials such as natural stone, exotic woods, custom metals, Venetian plaster, and high-end hardware.
Client & Designer Interaction
- Collaborate with architects, interior designers, and client representatives to interpret and deliver precise finish details.
- Support the Project Manager and Director of Construction during client walkthroughs, presenting homes in showroom-ready condition.
- Communicate adjustments and refinements with professionalism and discretion.
Protection & Care of Premium Materials
- Oversee strict material protection protocols to prevent damage to delicate surfaces including glass, polished stone, hardwood, and specialty plaster.
- Ensure climate control, site cleanliness, and environmental conditions meet the requirements of sensitive materials.
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain a safe, organised, and immaculate job site reflecting a luxury-level environment.
- Conduct safety walkthroughs and ensure compliance with local and industry best practices.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed daily reports, progress photos, and quality-control documentation.
- Track deliveries of custom materials, verifying accuracy in finishes, colours, dimensions, and craftsmanship.
- Communicate issues proactively and propose solutions that preserve design integrity and schedule.
Leadership & Problem Solving
- Lead finishing trades with precision, professionalism, and high expectations.
- Anticipate field issues unique to high-end construction and resolve them without compromising quality.
- Maintain strong relationships with specialty artisans, boutique suppliers, and high-end subcontractors.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

- 5–10+ years of experience in high-end residential construction, with a proven emphasis on finishing.
- Strong background managing custom homes and renovations.
- Mastery of luxury materials, bespoke installation methods, and high-end craftsmanship standards.
- Ability to read and interpret intricate architectural details, elevations, joinery drawings, and designer finish schedules.
- Exceptional eye for detail and uncompromising commitment to quality.
- Strong communication, leadership, and client-service skills.
- Proficiency with construction management and documentation platforms.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines while maintaining luxury-level standards.
