A growing utility organisation is expanding its Vegetation Operations team and is hiring across multiple levels: Vegetation Helper (Entry-Level), Lead Vegetation Worker (Mid-Level), and Lead Arborist (Technical Specialist). These roles support critical work that ensures safe electrical line clearance, protects infrastructure, and maintains reliability across the island.

Available Roles:

Vegetation Helper (Entry-Level)

A great starting point for individuals looking to enter vegetation management or utility field work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load, move, and dispose of limbs and debris

  • Maintain clean and safe work zones

  • Assist with equipment setup and tool maintenance

  • Support ground and aerial trimming crews

  • Follow safety instructions and proper PPE use

Ideal for: Reliable, energetic individuals who enjoy physical outdoor work and want hands-on experience with career progression opportunities.

Lead Vegetation Worker (Mid-Level / Crew Support Lead)

Acts as second-in-command on the crew, supporting the Foreman and guiding the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead crew members in trimming, felling, and clean-up activities

  • Identify hazards related to power lines, trees, and terrain

  • Operate chainsaws, pole saws, and chippers

  • Maintain tools and ensure proper equipment use

  • Support traffic control and communicate with property owner

Ideal for: Experienced tree workers ready to take on leadership responsibility in field operations.

Lead Arborist (Senior Technical Specialist)

Provides expert guidance on tree biology, structural integrity, and proper trimming/removal near electrical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess tree health and risk, recommend pruning or removal

  • Ensure ANSI A300 pruning standards are met

  • Identify hazardous trees and advise crews on mitigation

  • Train teams on species identification, proper cuts, and safe climbing

  • Maintain compliance with environmental and permitting requirements

Ideal for: Certified or highly experienced arborists with strong technical knowledge and training capability.

General Qualifications Across All Roles:

  • Comfort working outdoors in varied weather

  • Strong awareness of safety protocols

  • Physical fitness for climbing, lifting, cutting, dragging, and repetitive field work

  • Valid driver’s licence preferred
