A major organisation in the Bahamian utilities sector is expanding its field operations team and is seeking both entry-level and experienced Utility Locators to support the safe and accurate identification of underground electrical assets. These roles are essential to protecting infrastructure, preventing utility strikes, and supporting ongoing construction and maintenance activities across New Providence.

Key Responsibilities
Locator I (Entry-Level)
· Locate and mark underground utilities, including electrical, telecom, and streetlight cables
· Read and interpret basic utility maps and drawings
· Operate electronic locating equipment under supervision
· Document completed locates accurately in internal systems
· Assist senior locators and participate in hands-on field training
· Follow all safety and traffic control procedures
Locator II (Experienced)
· Independently locate all underground electrical assets using multiple locating technologies (RF transmitters, GPR, etc.)
· Communicate with contractors, crews, and field teams to ensure clarity of markings
· Update maps, tickets, and GIS data
· Support damage prevention investigations and safety audits
· Mentor Locator I team members and provide on-the-job training
· Participate in field reporting and near-miss documentation
Required Qualifications
Locator I
· High school diploma or equivalent
· No prior utility locating experience required (full training provided)
· Valid driver’s licence
· Comfort working outdoors in various conditions
Locator II
· 2–3 years plus of utility locating experience
· Strong understanding of local utility infrastructure
· Proficiency with electronic locating tools and mapping systems
· Valid driver’s licence and clean driving record
