Thatcher Associates are working in partnership with a leading UK construction business to appoint a Senior Commercial Manager on a major, multi phase project of national significance.

The Opportunity
As Senior Commercial Manager, you will take full ownership of the commercial function across a large and complex project, guiding it from pre construction through to completion.
You will sit within the senior leadership team, driving commercial strategy, managing risk and ensuring strong financial performance throughout.
This role offers real autonomy, high level exposure and the chance to operate at the top tier of project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all commercial activities across the project, ensuring control, accuracy and performance at every stage.
Drive procurement strategy and manage supply chain relationships to ensure packages are well structured, commercially sound and aligned with programme delivery.
Take ownership of financial performance, including reporting, forecasting, cash flow, change management and final accounts.
Build and maintain strong relationships with the client and wider project stakeholders, balancing collaboration with commercial discipline.
What We’re Looking For
A proven commercial leader with experience delivering major construction projects within a main contractor environment.
Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts, with the ability to manage risk and drive performance across complex schemes.
Confident, commercially astute and capable of influencing at senior level.
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline. MRICS or equivalent is highly desirable.
