Quantity Surveyor
Location: Nassau, Bahamas
Salary: $100,000–$120,000 per annum + benefits
The Role
Thatcher Associates have been appointed by a long-standing client in the Bahamas to seek an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the successful commercial delivery of construction projects in the Bahamas. You’ll take ownership of estimating, budgeting, procurement support, valuations and change control, working closely with project teams and suppliers to ensure cost certainty, strong governance and accurate reporting from pre-construction through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
As Quantity Surveyor, you will:

Prepare estimates, quotations and detailed quantity take-offs.

Support budget set-up, implementation, monitoring and regular cost reviews.

Produce and maintain cash flow forecasts aligned to programme and procurement plans.

Support schedule inputs and cost/programme alignment with the project team.

Administer contract documentation (including AIA documentation where applicable).

Create, track, issue and maintain records for change orders/variations.

Support procurement activities by ordering and tracking materials and supplies in coordination with the wider team.

Prepare, submit and track payment applications/valuations, ensuring appropriate supporting documentation.

Provide commercial support across multiple projects and step into broader project delivery tasks when directed.

Identify and onboard foreign and domestic suppliers as required.

Negotiate best value and lead commercial discussions to achieve competitive pricing.

Administer purchasing systems and ensure governance and approvals are followed.

Source and secure materials/parts needed to meet programme and quality requirements.

Verify that all products purchased meet project specifications and quality standards.

Control job budgets relating to procurement and report risks/opportunities promptly.

Coordinate purchasing and requisition activity with Project Managers, procurement/inventory functions and other internal stakeholders.

Provide regular updates on the commercial status of active projects (including daily updates where required).

Carry out additional reasonable duties as assigned to support the needs of the business.
