Thatcher Associates is working in partnership with a leading UK construction business to appoint a Project Director on a major, multi phase project of national significance.

The Opportunity
As Project Director, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of a large scale construction project from pre construction through to completion.
You will lead the senior project team across commercial, design and construction, ensuring alignment, performance and control at every stage.
You will act as the primary point of contact for the client, building trust, managing expectations and driving a collaborative approach while maintaining strong leadership and accountability.
This role demands presence, clarity and the ability to lead from the front.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership across all aspects of the project, ensuring delivery against programme, budget and quality objectives.
Lead and coordinate senior teams across commercial, design and construction functions.
Drive a culture of performance, safety and accountability across the project.
Maintain strong client relationships and act as the key interface at senior level.
Oversee risk management, governance and reporting, ensuring clear visibility and control.
Guide the project through key milestones, ensuring successful transition from pre construction into delivery and through to completion.
What We’re Looking For
A proven Project Director or Senior Project Manager with experience delivering major construction projects of significant scale.
Strong leadership capability with the ability to manage high performing teams across multiple disciplines.
Commercially astute with a clear understanding of risk, programme and delivery pressures.
Confident operating at senior level with clients, stakeholders and internal leadership teams.
A background within a main contractor environment delivering complex new build schemes is essential.
