A major organisation within the Bahamian utilities and infrastructure sector is expanding its Overhead Operations team and is seeking motivated and skilled individuals across all lineman classifications: Class A (Journeyman), Class B, Class C, (Groundman).

These roles are essential to the installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead electrical distribution systems. Whether you are an experienced Journeyman Lineman or looking to begin your career in the utility field, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation contributing to long-term grid reliability and modernization across the region.

 

Available Positions

Class A Lineman (Journeyman – Senior Level)

·       Perform all energized and de-energized overhead line work with minimal supervision

·       Lead or mentor junior linemen during complex tasks such as hot-stick work, pole replacement, transformer installation, and fault response

·       Conduct switching operations, tagging, and safety isolation procedures

·       Troubleshoot, repair, and restore power during outages and storm events

·       Operate aerial lifts, bucket trucks, and specialized line equipment

·       Uphold all safety standards and ensure site compliance

Ideal for: Fully qualified journeyman linemen with 5+ years’ experience, hot-line certification, and advanced troubleshooting skills

Class B Lineman (Intermediate)

·       Assist with pole setting, wire pulling, and hardware installation

·       Perform grounding, basic hot-stick operations, and work from aerial lifts

·       Support Class A Linemen and Foremen

·       Participate in outage restoration and storm response

Ideal for: linemen with 2–4 years of field experience looking to progress to Class A.

Class C Lineman (Developing Technician)

·       Carry tools, assist in job setup, and practice climbing and aerial lift work

·       Perform grounding, tagging, and basic safety tasks

·       Support outage response and learn overhead procedures under supervision

Ideal for: Applicants with 1–2 years of experience or formal line school training.
