Thatcher Associates is recruiting on behalf of a well-established power and utilities provider in The Bahamas for a Journeyman Lineman / Troubleman to join their field operations team.
This is a hands-on, site-based role supporting underground and distribution crews across maintenance, fault response, and emergency works. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in power distribution and utility operations.
The role
You’ll be part of frontline field operations, assisting experienced crews with fault finding, repairs, and site setup across underground networks and overhead distribution systems. The work is practical, physical, and safety-led, with exposure to real-world utility infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include:

Assisting with identifying and accessing underground system faults and trouble locations

Supporting repairs and maintenance on distribution systems

Handling tools, equipment, and materials on-site

Working in trenches, underground vaults, and around live distribution infrastructure

Maintaining safe work zones, including traffic and confined space controls
-
Responding to outages and emergency call-outs as required

Working closely with linemen, splicers, and technicians to keep the network running
