The Role
This is a rare opportunity to lead as General Manager, working closely with the owner to oversee all operational aspects of the business. The role allows the owner to prioritize business development while you take charge of preconstruction, construction operations, commercial management (quantity surveying), and procurement—each supported by dedicated departments. You’ll drive excellence across high-profile projects, navigating the unique challenges of a remote island environment with creativity and precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Oversee preconstruction, construction operations, commercial activities, and procurement, ensuring seamless project delivery.
- Preconstruction Excellence: Lead feasibility studies, cost planning, scheduling, and subcontractor engagement to lay a strong foundation for success.
- Construction Management: Supervise site operations, ensuring projects meet deadlines, budgets, and the highest quality standards.
- Commercial Oversight: Collaborate with the quantity surveying team to manage budgets, cash flow, and financial performance.
- Procurement and Logistics: Tackle supply chain complexities, securing materials and equipment in a remote location to keep projects on track.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build trusted relationships with clients, architects, and local authorities, aligning projects with expectations and regulations.
- Team Development: Inspire and lead a skilled team of project managers, site supervisors, and support staff, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
