The Opportunity
We’re working with a leading building and development company in the Cayman Islands. They are responsible for some of the region’s most high-profile commercial, residential and hospitality projects and are now looking to appoint an Estimator to join their established team in Grand Cayman.

The Role
As an Estimator, you will play a key part in the pricing, planning and delivery of major construction projects. You will review project scopes, drawings and specifications, preparing complete and accurate cost estimates and communicating findings to senior management and clients.
You will be confident producing high-level concept estimates and detailed cost plans, as well as measuring work and preparing Bills of Quantities in line with specifications. The role also involves researching labour, materials and equipment pricing to make cost-effective recommendations, maintaining positive relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors, and ensuring all estimating procedures are followed from tender through to completion.
You will also monitor and report on local cost impacts including labour availability, productivity, exchange rates, import and export taxes, and freight costs.
About You
This position would suit an experienced Estimator or Quantity Surveyor who is looking to take their skills overseas. You will have a strong commercial mindset, solid technical ability and the confidence to work effectively within a collaborative team.
Ideally, you will bring:

A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience

Around five years of experience in cost estimating or preconstruction within the building sector

A good understanding of measurement, cost planning and cost control principles

The ability to produce accurate estimates, cost plans and Bills of Quantities

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with familiarity in AutoCAD considered an advantage

MRICS or an equivalent professional qualification would be beneficial but not essential
