A major organisation within the Bahamian utilities and infrastructure sector is seeking experienced Class A or B Linemen to support the expansion and maintenance of critical high-voltage substation assets. This hands-on role is essential to ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of the region’s electrical grid as the organisation continues its long-term modernization programme.

Key Responsibilities:
· Build, install, and maintain substation structures and equipment.
· Perform high-voltage switching, grounding, terminations, and connections in line with strict safety protocols.
· Conduct inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on substation components.
· Assist in energizing new equipment and ensuring commissioning tasks are completed accurately.
· Work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varied weather conditions.
· Follow detailed work orders, procedures, and documentation standards.
· Respond to outages and participate in on-call rotations.
Key Requirements:
Experience
· Class B: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in utility or high-voltage linework.
· Class A: 5+ years of utility/substation experience, including energized work.
· Strong understanding of switching procedures, safety regulations, and high-voltage systems.
Skills & Attributes
· High attention to safety and compliance.
· Ability to work independently or as part of a field team.
· Strong communication skills with the ability to follow precise instructions.
· Competence with electrical and mechanical tools used in substation environments.
Physical Demands
· Climbing, crouching, lifting 50+ lbs, and working in physically demanding environments.
· Comfort working in energized areas with exposure to heat, weather, and substation conditions.
