We are seeking a hands-on and enthusiastic Assistant Engineer to support the Director of Engineering in maintaining the resort’s buildings, equipment, and essential services to the highest standards.
About the Role:
As the Assistant Engineer, you will work closely with the Director of Engineering and the Repairs & Maintenance Department team, ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly across the resort. Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, you’ll be responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting repairs, and supporting projects that keep this world-class property in pristine condition. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your technical skills and gain valuable leadership experience in a dynamic hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on buildings, grounds, and equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Assist the Director of Engineering with project coordination and contractor supervision
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment servicing
- Support health, safety, and compliance initiatives across the resort
- Assist in training and mentoring maintenance team members
- Participate in the on-call rotation for urgent maintenance needs

Qualifications & Experience:
- Trade qualification or technical certification in engineering, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or related field
- 2-5 years of experience in maintenance, engineering, or facilities management (hospitality experience required)
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations
